Meet the artist—

Pam grew up in Ocilla, Georgia. After several moves to other Georgia cities, she and her family settled in Augusta.

Pam began her artistic efforts in 2008 by taking plein air classes beside the Savannah River. She found joy in putting paint to canvas and capturing a bit of the beauty around her. Her first paintings were of nature and that continues to be her primary focus. Many of her works are representational, based on photos she has taken or painted in plein air. She also enjoys the freedom of expressionistic works and occasional abstracts. Pam paints out of her love for color and beauty and feels that creating art is a means of connecting with the Creator. Her focus is on capturing the essence of nature's splendor and relaying a sense of peace and joy.

She has exhibited her work at Sacred Heart Cultural Center, the Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art, Aiken Center for the Arts, Augusta & Co, the Arts and Heritage Center of North Augusta, the McCormick Arts Center gallery, and other venues. She has received several awards, including 1st Place - Traditional at the Aiken Artist Guild's 2022 Member Show. Three of her landscapes were selected for the Art of Georgia exhibit in the executive offices of the Georgia State Capitol, from October 2019 thru March 2021. She paints with the Mascaro Art Group.

Pam resides with her husband Bill and their miniature schnauzer Pepper. You can email the artist for more information about works for sale.  Follow her on Instagram @ Pam Thompson Art.
